What does the BIMI checker verify?

BIMI has strict requirements across your DNS record and your logo file. One wrong setting means your logo won't show in inboxes.

Feature

DNS Record Validation

Looks up your BIMI TXT record at default._bimi.yourdomain.com and parses all tags — version, logo URL, and VMC certificate.

Advantage

SVG Logo Analysis

Fetches your logo and runs 14 checks — file size, XML validity, square viewBox, no scripts, no external references, title element, and more.

Benefit

Live Logo Preview

Renders your logo exactly as supporting inboxes would display it, so you can confirm it looks right before publishing.

BIMI DNS Record

Published at default._bimi.yourdomain.com as a TXT record. Points to your logo URL and optionally a VMC certificate.

SVG Tiny PS Logo

Your logo must be in SVG Tiny PS format — square, no scripts, no external refs, under 32 KB, with a title element.

Logo URL (l=)

The BIMI record points to your SVG logo over HTTPS. We fetch it, validate it, and preview how it renders in the inbox.

VMC Certificate

A Verified Mark Certificate from DigiCert or Entrust unlocks the blue verified checkmark in supported inboxes like Gmail.

Frequently asked questions

BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification) is a standard that lets you display your brand logo next to emails in recipients' inboxes — Gmail, Apple Mail, Yahoo, and others. It requires a BIMI DNS record pointing to an SVG Tiny PS logo.
BIMI requires SVG Tiny PS (Tiny Portable/Secure) format. The logo must be square, under 32 KB, contain a title element, have no script tags, no external references, no JavaScript event handlers, and be served over HTTPS. Most standard SVG files need minor adjustments to comply.
A VMC (Verified Mark Certificate) is an SSL-style certificate issued by DigiCert or Entrust that cryptographically binds your logo to your domain. It's required for the blue verified checkmark in Gmail and Yahoo. Without it, some mail clients may still show your logo but without the verified indicator.
Gmail (with VMC), Yahoo Mail, Apple Mail (iOS/macOS), Fastmail, and several others. Microsoft Outlook has its own logo system and does not currently support BIMI. Support is growing as more providers adopt the standard.
